Costa Brava

Golden, sparkling waters
The beaches and coves of the Costa Brava are an essential destination for those who want to enjoy the essence of the Mediterranean, full of sun and sea. We’d like to recommend some beaches of great appeal to tourists.
- El Riuet Beach – Escala
- La Rubina Beach – Empuriabrava
- Portlligat Beach – Cadaqués
- Les Freses Cove – Portbou
- Sant Francesc Cove – Blanes
- Santa Cristina Beach – Lloret de Mar
- Aiguablava Cove – Begur
- Taballera Cove – Port de la Selva
The Medas Islands
This archipelago is the key underwater flora and fauna reserve of the western Mediterranean. At 900 metres from the coast, this small archipelago formed by seven islets with underwater caves and rocky bottoms represents a paradise for divers. The area is set up for controlled dives and initiations for beginners. In addition, boats with underwater views leave from the town of Estartit to tour the islands and the coast of Montgrí.

Sport and adventure
One of the great attractions of the Costa Brava is its wide range of outdoor activities.

Nautical sports: its 200 km of coastline has 17 marinas, many sailing and windsurfing schools, and more than 30 diving centres. Other activities: sea kayaking, jet ski rental, canoeing, surfing, wakeboarding, catamaran trips, jet skiing, kitesurfing, parasailing and water skiing, among others.

Sport and nature: the region boasts the beauty of three nature reserves with excellent routes for hiking, trekking, Nordic walking, cycling and mountain biking. You will find bike rental centres in most locations.

Adventure: thrill seekers can try activities such as go-karting, parachute jumping, archery, ballooning or helicopter flying, or visit amusement parks or water parks.

Haute cuisine
The typical cuisine of the Costa Brava represents a worldwide gold standard, perfectly combining high-quality raw materials from the sea, the mountains and the garden. The region is home to a large number of restaurants where you can enjoy traditional cuisine, market cuisine, tapas or the latest in avant-garde. Shopping at the weekly fairs and markets, and in specialised stores, is an ideal activity to complement your journey through haute cuisine.
